Wale is looking for “One Reason” to flex on ’em, in his new song featuring Eric Bellinger. The MMG rapper is readying the release of his new album SHINE, and recently talked to REVOLT about the LP during a photoshoot for Sean John’s fall/holiday 2016 ‘Dream Big’ campaign.
“It’s just music,” he told REVOLT. “It ain’t necessarily a book this time. It’s more so a bunch of emotions that you gonna feel. I’m just trying to paint pictures. It ain’t too overly thought of this time, it’s still good music.”
Wale enlists a bevy of beautiful women to join him his “My PYT” video. While on the grounds of a sprawling mansion, the Maybach Music Group rapper posts up in the lifeguard chair while the ladies dance by the pool, lies in the middle of a giant chess set, hits the tennis court with weights and much more.
He borrows from Michael Jackson‘s 1982 hit, singing: “I wanna love you. Pretty young thang,” on the hook of the track – which is the lead single from his upcoming album, S.H.I.N.E.
Wale is now the proud father of a baby girl. His girlfriend, Chloe Alexis, gave birth to a baby girl, Zyla Moon Oluwakemi (Folarin), Friday afternoon.
The “My PYT” rapper took to Instagram with an adorable photo that showed his newborn holding on to his finger with her tiny hand.
Wale serenades his P.Y.T. on his newly released song, “Her Wave,” which samples Miguel‘s “Waves.”
“Don’t give my love away. Don’t give my love away,” he sings. “‘Cause I know you got that wave everybody ride.”
Tank‘s “You Don’t Know” single, featuring Wale, gets the video treatment. In the clip, the R&B crooner’s leading lady is met with disappointment after waking up in bed alone – but that quickly turns to joy after she discovers a card and designer dress he left behind. She eventually makes her way to a surprise party he planned for her.
The song serves as the first single off Tank’s new album, Sex, Love & Pain 2, and in an interview with Rated R&B, he explained why he decided to create a sequel to 2007’s Sex, Love & Pain.
Yesterday, Wale paid a visit to The Breakfast Club, and while chatting it up with hosts Angela Yee, DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God about his most recent album, and more – he was asked his opinion on his MMG labelmate, Meek Mill‘s beef with Drake.
“I honestly think he brought a pencil to a gun fight.. he ain’t bring a knife,” Wale says. “…A pencil and a piece of paper. You can’t compete with somebody that got them type of relationships.” He also added in that he doesn’t like how people are trying to make Meek Mill look like a punching bag. “Why are y’all talking about this on ESPN?” he asks.
Wale and Empire star, Serayah, may be a couple. According to Entertainment Tonight, sources say the 20-year-old singer-actress – who plays Tiana Brown on Fox’s hit drama – has been dating the MMG rapper since June.
Wale lives in Los Angeles, but has another home in Chicago (which is where Empire is filmed) – and the twosome is said to have been maintaining a long-term relationship; visiting each other every few weeks.
Tank calls on Wale to drop a verse on his new slow jam, “You Don’t Know.” The R&B singer makes it his mission to prove to his lady that it’s all about her, with lyrics like: “What’s it gonna take for you to know you’re the only one I want around?”
And, Wale’s trying to decipher whether its “love or lust”.. “I can’t say though,” he raps. You’ll also hear Tank borrowing from Patti LaBelle‘s classic, “If Only You Knew,” as he hits his falsetto on the hook.
