Today marks the 20th anniversary of Tupac Shakur‘s death, and with the All Eyez on Me biopic on its way, Morgan Creek and Open Road Films are offering another sneak peek with a new trailer.
The nearly two-minute look finds the iconic rapper, played by Demetrius Shipp, Jr., at odds with police, and there’s also scenes giving a glimpse of his lavish lifestyle – from hopping off a private jet to getting stacks of cash
Last week, Jada Pinkett Smith stopped by Arsenio, where she chatted about her relationship with Tupac Shakur. The two developed a close friendship that lasted until his death, and she shared that he had a protective role in life – and saw her talent, intelligence, and beauty separated from sex. She also talked her 8-10 pound weight gain, saying that she actually likes it.
On her relationship with Tupac:
Pac was probably one of the first male figures that I had in my life that saw the beauty and the talent and my intelligence, separated from sex. That’s something that a young girl usually gets from the is father; I didn’t have that. Pac was the first one that it wasn’t about sex. It was about ‘You, you’re a beautiful woman, you’re talented, you’re strong, I respect you. And you are my girl. You’re gon’ sit right here, and I’ma protect you.’
On her weight gain:
I actually like.. I decided I’m gonna keep my lil 8-10 pounds. It works for me.. I actually needed it, I really needed it.
