Drake Presents Rihanna With Vanguard Award At MTV VMAs, Professes His Love For Her + RiRi Rocks Four Performances

Rihanna took home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at last night’s MTV VMAs, but before receiving the honor, the Bajan star rock’d the show with four separate performances featuring an array of songs from her catalog.

From “Don’t Stop the Music,” to “We Found Love,” “Rude Boy,” Needed Me,” plus, she definitely put in “Work,” work, work, work, work, work. There was also a list of other hits.

The BET Hip Hop Awards 2015 were filmed a few days ago, and aired last night on the network. Hosted by Snoop Dogg, the show featured performances from Future, Travis Scott, DeJ Loaf, Diddy, Lil Kim, T.I., Rich Homie Quan and more.

Scarface received the “I Am Hip Hop Award,” Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean took home three awards – while Drake scored two.

The BET Awards 2015, hosted by the hilarious Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, were held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles last night, with show-stopping performances from Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, and Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monae, Jidenna and more.

The high energy event also featured a tribute to Janet Jackson (performed by Ciara, Jason Derulo and Tinashe) as she received the Ultimate Icon Award – and Diddy hit the stage with Mase, Lil Kim and Faith Evans for a Bad Boy reunion. Tamar Braxton and K. Michelle performed together, and were also joined by R&B legend, Patti Labelle.

2014 BET Awards Performances: Beyonce & Jay Z (By Video), Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, August Alsina, Trey Songz + More

The 2014 BET Awards went down last night at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre. The big evening, hosted by Chris Rock, kicked off with an opening from Pharrell and Missy Elliott.

Nicki Minaj serenaded the crowd with “Pills N Potions,” Lil Wayne rock’d the crowd with “Krazy” and Believe Me,” plus Chris Brown performed “Loyal,” and also joined August Alsina and Trey Songz for the “I Luv This Sh-t” remix. T.I. and Iggy Azalea hit the stage together, as well and John Legend and Jhene Aiko. There were also performances from Jennifer Hudson, Usher, and Beyoncé and Jay Z made surprise appearance via footage from their “On the Run” tour, which opened last week in Miami.

The BET Hip Hop Awards aired on Tuesday night, following its taping in Atlanta last month. Hosted by Snoop Dogg, the show featured performances from Kendrick Lamar, Future, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Diddy, Meek Mill, French Montana, and ScHoolBoy Q.

Kendrick Lamar was the night’s biggest winner, taking home five awards, including the Lyricist of the Year and Album of the Year – while Drake was in close second, winning four awards including Best Hip-Hop Video for his track “Started From the Bottom.” View the full list of winners here.
