Sevyn Streeter’s 76ers National Anthem Performance Canceled Over ‘We Matter Jersey’


Sevyn Streeter was scheduled to sing the national anthem at the Philadelphia 76ers season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night, but says her performance was canceled due to her “We Matter” jersey.

In an interview with The Associated Press late Wednesday, Sevyn said she was told she would not sing, just minutes before her performance.

Toni Braxton Wears Heart Monitor While Performing At Concert


Toni Braxton is pushing through, keeping her performances going amid complications she’s been facing due to her battle with Lupus. During one of her shows over the weekend, the Braxton Family Values star performed with a heart monitor strapped to her chest.

TMZ obtained footage from her The Hits Tour stop in Savannah, Georgia Saturday night, and as she addressed the crowd, her monitor is in view.

Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande united on stage for a live performance of Ariana’s “Side to Side,” and following their VMAs appearance, came the arrival of the official video for the track.

They heat up the screen in the video, which begins with Ariana and a group of ladies on exercise bikes, and when she and Nicki meet up, their both swimsuits in a sauna with men in underwear – made to look like mannequins. “Side to Side” is a cut from Ariana’s Dangerous Woman album.

Beenie Man Cancels OVO Fest Performance After Contracting Zika Virus


Beenie Man was forced to cancel his Saturday night performance at Drake‘s 7th Annual OVO Fest in Toronto, after contracting the Zika virus.

The reggae star was denied a Canadian visa following the diagnosis, and took to Instagram with a photo that showed him lying down with what looks to be nurses by his side.

Rihanna Cancels Grammy Awards Performance Due To Bronchitis, Tweets Apology

Rihanna was scheduled to perform at the GRAMMY Awards last night, but canceled just before the show, due to bronchitis.

According to TMZ, she arrived at the Staples Center, but did not walk the red carpet. A rep for the singer tells the site she “took antibiotics for three days leading up to the show, but they didn’t work. Rihanna was then examined by a doctor at her rehearsal Monday, who decided to put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because the singer was at risk of damaging her vocal cords.”

Kendrick Lamar shut it down at Monday night’s GRAMMY Awards, with his powerful performance. The Compton rapper appeared on stage as if he was in a chain gang, as he performed “The Blacker the Berry.” Him and those walking out with him were united in chains, while others were locked up in cells.

He transitioned to “Alright,” which moved him to a space with a bonfire as his backdrop, and tribal African dancers surrounded him. He then raps with a blank screen behind him, and as he reaches the end of his flow, an image of the continent of Africa appears on the screen, but instead of “Africa” it reads “Compton.”

T.I. Shows Support To Beyoncé Amid Criticism Over Her Super Bowl Performance


TMZ caught up with T.I. as he made his through the airport this week, to ask him his opinion on the criticism Beyoncé received after performing “Formation” at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

When the cameraman mentions that “Rudy Giuliani said it was an attack on cops,” Tip shakes his head and says: “It’s an attack on cops that attack our people.”
