Colin Kaepernick Kneels During National Anthem, Announces He’s Donating $1 Million To Help Underserved Communities


Colin Kaepernick said on Sunday that he would continue to not stand during the national anthem, as he says he is “not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”

The 49ers quarterback continued to his protest against racial injustice at Thursday night’s preseason game in San Diego, where the Chargers hosted their annual Salute to the Military. He took a knee during “The Star-Spangled Banner,” along with his teammate Eric Reid.
