A 32-year record for the most American Music Awards nominations has been broken by Drake, who takes the lead with 13 nods.
The “Controlla” was nominated in categories including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist – to name a few. Winning in any of the categories will make it his first AMA award.
Drake has been ordered by the doctor to reschedule three of his upcoming shows on his Summer Sixteen Tour with Future, due to an ankle injury. He made fans aware via a statement on his OVO blog.
‘The love that my fans aka my family have shown to me on the summer sixteen tour is something I won’t ever forget,” he writes.
After teasing its arrival on Instagram, Drake unleashes the visuals for his new short film, Please Forgive Me. According to Billboard, the action-packed film, inspired by Drizzy’s chart-topping Views album, was filmed in a single week in Soweto township in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Toronto rapper stars in the film, alongside Belgian actress and model, Fanny Neguesha, and it is said to be a mix of Indecent Proposal, The Bourne Identity and Taken.
Kid Cudi took to Twitter to get a few things off his chest yesterday, and called out Kanye West and Drake in the process.
After saying: “Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them,” and saying the fake ones won’t be lasting much longer, Cudder made it known who he was referring to, adding: “My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These nxxxas dont give a fxxk about me. And they aint fxxxin with me.”
$3 million worth of jewelry stolen from Drake‘s tour bus earlier this week has been recovered. The jewelry belonged to DJ Future the Prince, and was stolen during the Summer Sixteen Tour stop in Phoenix.
According to ABC News, “Phoenix police recovered a reported $3 million worth of jewelry that was taken from a tour bus being used by the musician and DJ Future the Prince while they were performing Tuesday.”
Drake is looking to add club owner to his extensive resume, with plans to open a new spot in Houston called “The Ballet.”
While in town for his “Summer Sixteen” tour, Drizzy made the announcement at Warehouse Live; calling the club “a new dance experience” – and despite the name, he said it will not involve slippers and tutus.
Drake hits the rip club to get his mind off his woman, in the accompanying visuals for his Views track “Child’s Play.”
The video starts out with him dining at The Cheesecake Factory with his his leading lady, played by Tyra Banks. He forgets his phone at the table (he realizes he messed up while in the bathroom), and when he gets back, she’s in a not-so-good mood, after discovering he’s been cheating on her.
After showing some PDA while partying together at E11EVEN nightclub, Drake and Rihanna took their romance to the stage during the “Summer Sixteen” Miami stop.
During the concert at the AmericanAirlines Arena, which also included an appearance from Lil Wayne, RiRi planted a kiss on Drizzy’s lips once she wrapped up “B—h Better Have My Money.”
