Scottie Pippen has filed for divorce from his wife, Larsa, after 19 years of marriage. Florida court records show that the NBA legend filed for divorce from the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star on Tuesday, but according to People, Larsa was notified of the filing on Thursday.
“This is a very difficult time for Mr. Pippen. He is hopeful that the divorce will be swift and amicable,” Scottie’s attorney Roberta G. Stanley told People in a statement. “We are respecting his request to protect his privacy and the privacy of his children during the dissolution of marriage proceedings.”
A rep for Larsa released the following statement to E! News:
“After careful consideration and 19 years together, Larsa and Scottie have each filed for dissolution of their marriage. Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their 4 beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect. She would like to thank everyone for their understanding and kindly ask for privacy from the media during this difficult time of transition for her family.”
The couple wed in 1997, and have four children together: Sophia Pippen, Scotty Pippen Jr., Justin Pippen and Preston Pippen.
While there have been talks of rapper, Future, being the reason Scottie and Larsa are calling it quits (as people recently spotted the two of them hanging out in Miami), sources close to Larsa, as well as Future, tell TMZ they’ve been friends for a long time and there’s nothing romantic going on between them.
Future’s sources add: “He’s got so many women, he’s not about to mess with a married one.”
Scottie travelling a lot (mostly to Chicago for business), and Larsa feeling they were drifting apart, is being reported as partly why their marriage is being called off.
Larsa, a close friend of Kim Kardashian, was a part of the Real Housewives franchise for one season.
