Rapper Shawty Lo, born Carlos Walker, was killed in a fiery car crash on I-285 in Atlanta early Wednesday morning – his manager confirmed to WGCL-TV.
CBS News reports:
Police say Walker may have been the victim of a hit and run. They have yet to find the vehicle apparently involved in the wreck that fled the scene. Police say one of the vehicles involved went over a guard rail and caught fire. Walker’s vehicle, a 2016 Audi, struck a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn and catch fire.
He was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. Two women also in the car with him were also injured and taken to the hospital, but their condition and identities are not known at this time.
Shawty Lo released his first solo album in 2007, and dropped a for a number of hits, including “Dey Know,” “Laffy Taffy,” “Betcha Can’t Do it Like Me,” and “Foolish.
The Georgia native leaves behind 11 children. He was 40 years old.
