A Philadelphia-based pastor, Jomo K. Johnson, has been waging a boycott against rapper Meek Mill; accusing him of blasphemy over his latest hit, “Amen.”
Meek Mill called into Hot 107.9 with Q Deezy to talk to Pastor Johnson about the accusations, and things got a little heated.
“My plea to you is to turn from sin, turn from blasphemy, turn from unrighteousness, that you’re purporting in your music…turn to Jesus Christ and receive eternal life,” Pastor Johnson said.
Meek Mill responded telling the pastor that it looks as if he’s trying to get famous.
“This looking like you trying to get famous..or you need some attention, because you could have came to me and said anything you wanted to say. I might’ve helped you. If you needed money for your church or whatever I might’ve woulda gave you that money. I might’ve even remixed the song with Kirk Franklin or anything you wanted to do.”
The two went back and forth for almost 15 minutes, with Pastor Johnson accusing Meek Mill of supporting rape, and Meek bringing up Pastor Johnson’s criminal record.
